Jolenne Bradley

Ms.B (as she’s known around here) began dancing at the age of 7. By 16 she knew she wanted to go into business and commit her studies to dance education and making a positive difference within the dance industry.

Jolenne graduated from the Business and Fitness Management program from Cambrian College in 1995. She continued studies and graduated with honours in 1998 from the Cambrian College Dance Arts Educators program. In her final year she completed her membership with the Canadian Dance Teachers Association, Tap and Jazz Divisions.

Jolenne moved to Montreal to pursue her career as a dance teacher, opening many doors and contracts in the dance industry. Shortly after she became a member of the Professional Arts Educators of Canada early in its conception, working closely with other teachers to develop the jazz syllabus. After some time in the GTA, she had to follow her heart and pursue her dream of being a business owner. In 2003 she relocated to Barrie and established the Barrie Dance Conservatory, Inc.

This year marks 18 years in business.

Throughout her career, Jolenne has been recognized for achievements as a business owner and entrepreneur. She’s had the pleasure of mentoring many dance teachers and guiding them through their professional development. Her choreography has won numerous awards for technique & style. And students of BDC have received many opportunities through dance scholarships, auditions, and went on to work professionally in various aspects of the dance industry.

More recently in 2017 Jolenne graduated from the ADAPT teacher training program and was presented with an award in recognition for her outstanding essays. BDC is a curriculum-based studio using the ADAPT method of training, allowing students to take part in a certification program.

Jolenne is passionate about dance education and business ownership and will continue to advocate for the dance industry & provide the best for her clients and faculty. 2020 has presented challenges but she’s thankful to be part of a great community and can’t wait to see what the next 20 years will bring.
