<image:title>Faculty - What is the BDC Apprenticeship Program?</image:title>
<image:caption>This program provides hands-on experience, training, supervision and mentoring to high school age dancers and students of BDC who are interested in becoming dance teachers and educators. Successful applicants will be given their own class(es) in a genre(s) that we find to be suitable for their growth and development while obtaining the proper knowledge and information to become confident young aspiring teachers. They will work alongside BDC's experienced and certified faculty to receive proper training and guidance in: classroom management class planning (through a standard curriculum) choreography professionalism in and outside the classroom team work Many of our Recreational Division classes will be taught by an apprentice this season alongside a BDC faculty/mentor. This season we have 5 returning Apprentices that are in their 2nd year of the program. We are excited to introduce them to your children and continue their mentorships as they finish this season and prepare them for new adventures in the dance industry. This is the future of Dance Education!</image:caption>

<image:caption>Looking to enhance your dance education experience? This intensive program allows dancers to study and train with like-minded students. It focuses on challenging their technique and developing style, while perfecting their performance skills. Mentorship is provided as students are encouraged to set both personal and team goals. Together, the team will prepare for competitions, community performances and events. Many will choose to study for yearly dance exams and some will pursue auditions and opportunities within the dance industry. Regardless of their journey, all company dancers graduate and move onto a successful education and fulfilling career. Looking for a slower introduction to competitive dance? Barrie Dance Conservatory now offers a Pre-Company Program for recreational dancers aged 12 and under interested in pursuing the company program in the future. <image:title>Jolenne Bradley - Jolenne Bradley</image:title>
<image:caption>Known affectionately as Ms. B, Jolenne embarked on her dance journey at the age of 7, igniting a passion that would shape her career path. By the age of 16, she was determined to merge her love for dance with her entrepreneurial spirit, dedicating her studies to dance education and striving to make a positive impact within the industry. Jolenne's educational pursuits led her to the Business and Fitness Management program at Cambrian College, where she graduated in 1995. Building upon this foundation, she went on to excel in the Cambrian College Dance Arts Educators program, earning honors in 1998. During her final year, she solidified her membership with the Canadian Dance Teachers Association, specializing in Tap and Jazz and completing her training with Lesley Kallio as a ballet teacher using the Cecchetti method. Following her studies, Jolenne ventured into teaching, with stints in Montreal and Toronto. It was in Toronto where she became involved with the Professional Arts Educators of Canada (PAEC), contributing to the development of the jazz syllabus during its early stages. However, her heart led her to pursue her dream of business ownership, prompting her to establish the Barrie Dance Conservatory, Inc. in 2003 upon relocating to Barrie. Throughout her illustrious career, Jolenne has garnered recognition for her achievements as a business owner, entrepreneur, and mentor. Her choreography has earned numerous awards for its technical precision and artistic flair, while her students have flourished in the dance industry, securing scholarships, auditions, and professional opportunities. In 2017, Jolenne graduated from the ADAPT Teacher Training program, receiving accolades for her outstanding essays and unwavering commitment to dance education. More recently, she has extended her expertise to the Acro Dance Teachers Association (ADTA), playing a pivotal role in establishing a robust acro program for students and teachers alike in her community. A note from Ms B “In addition to my dedication to dance education, I am deeply passionate about cultivating the next generation of dancers, teachers, and entrepreneurs. Throughout my career, I have actively mentored aspiring individuals, guiding them in honing their craft, understanding the intricacies of the industry, and nurturing their entrepreneurial spirit. Whether through personalized coaching sessions, workshops, or guest lectures, I am committed to empowering others to realize their full potential in both dance and business. My journey encompasses not only a profound love for dance and teaching but also a fervent dedication to fostering innovation and leadership within the dance community. With a steadfast commitment to excellence and a vision for the future, I am excited to continue shaping the landscape of dance education and entrepreneurship, leaving an indelible mark on generations to come”</image:caption>
